Bastia - Calvi: A Corsican Hope

The wheels were spinning when the boat landed in Corsica and it was all I could do to hold the motorcycle back.

Straightaway, I headed from Bastia to Calvi, with the intention of heading to Porto Vecchio from there. Before setting out, a review of a map of the island indicated that one could double zig-zag east to west and north to south and back without using the same roads. This seems like an ideal way to maximize an adventure in a place where one may never return.

On the road to St. Florent across the north east portion of the island, the foliage is reminiscent of that which grows in California. That reminds me of being home in the marina.

Our video editing department is hard at work putting together the video that was collected on Corsica, so for now, we have only still photos. So, here they are!

Despite the number of old castles on Corsica, there's no need to worry about ghosts because the Ghost Busters are on patrol:

The Bay at Calvi:

In the next post, a low gas situation changes my trajectory, and instead of zigging or zagging, I have to retrace the route.
