Bastia - Siena: The Tao Beach Edition
Red Bull Vodka? Check
House music? Check
Undersized pool full with too many people and questionable fluids where no splashing is allowed? Check
What does the Corsica Ferry Mega Express II have in common with Las Vegas? Both offer all of the above in a setting that is made for pure pleasure.
While waiting at 8:15 AM in the line of vehicles to load the motorcycle on to the boat, there was absolutely no way of knowing what was waiting onboard. It was a tremendous surprise to find that the four hour tour from Bastia to Livorno would include a pool party that rivals the party at Tao Beach. Perhaps even more surprising was that the Italians were all ready to party. Speedos everywhere and I was SO uncomfortable. Who wears a speedo at 9:00 AM? Italians do, that's who.
I didn't want to take too many pictures, because I figured that would freak people out, but here you go:

This video is displayed here against my better judgement, but you really have to hear the music to get the full affect:
Last call at the Lido Bar:

The moral of this story is, be sure to do a few extra push ups in the morning because you never know when a surprise pool party will happen.
Compared to the events of the morning the rest of the day is dull and mundane; in the next post, I meet up with some friends for a day of relaxing in Tuscany.
