Day 9: Poio to Léon
Leaving Poio was difficult because it's such a beautiful place.

It was also difficult because the wind was relentless. Given the options of elements in which one could ride, rain is preferable to wind, because rain is visible and tangible. Wind does whatever the hell it wants, and sometimes it wants to gust and push the bike all over the road. Wind and rain together are the worst. I've experienced that once, and I'll go out of my way to avoid it again.
This is roughly the route:

The day was largely uneventful as we were attempting to make progress back to the Pyrenees where the riding is fantastic. The one discovery that I made is that Black and Yellow can actually hit 160kph. This lesson was learned unintentionally; here is what happened.
Matt was riding ahead of me and out of the car in front of him, someone threw some garbage. At first, I didn't think anything of it, but then a chip bag flew out and hit Matt. At this point, the smart thing to do was get around this car so that the garbage was no longer an issue.
After working my way around Matt and the car, an opening came up and the car tried to pass. Not wanting to be the target of more projectiles, I accelerated so that it couldn't pass. After all was said and done, Black and Yellow proved that it had more in it than I thought, and the car remained behind me. Unfortunately, I think there may have been a speed camera nearby, but it will be a ticket well earned.
