Days 14 - 19: Nice, Cannes, Antibes, and Monaco
There's no route map for this entry, because Black and Yellow and I took a break.
Quite honestly, I was all too happy to have a few days off of the motorcycle. It's quite draining to wake up every day, jump into riding gear and plow through two hundred miles or so. Please don't mistake that statement for a complaint about doing something awesome; this trip really is a unique opportunity and I've enjoyed every minute. A more fitting expression is that it's just "too much of a good thing."
Also, the mileage allotted by the rental company was 3900 miles, and I'd logged just over 3000. The penalties for going over the mileage limit were pretty significant, and the distance between Nice and London is about 800 miles, so it made sense to make this the last stop on the tour and head back to London after.
Given those two facts, it was an easy decision to take a few days off of riding and to enjoy the south of France. Other deciding factors include:
- Fantastic weather
- Friendly people
- Events going on
- Topless beaches
